Hey Subscribers,

This month, we are honoring the country of Uganda with a new single origin release made with cacao from our producing partner Jeff Steinberg from Latitude Trade Co. We are excited to introduce our Uganda 72% Dark Chocolate from the Semuliki Forest of Western Uganda.

Semuliki National Park is located in the Bundibugyo Region of remote Western Uganda and is home to some of Africa's most diverse floral and faunal wildlife. Latitude Trade company is a centrally located fermentorium in this region which collects fresh cacao beans from over 1002 farming partners and pays them 10% higher than local market rates. Their attention to quality has also allowed Latitude to produce some of the best beans in Uganda.

For our two bar subscribers, paired with the dark bar is our Lemon Ginger Chocolate made using these same beans. See how the lemon and ginger flavors play off the natural nuances present in this delicious chocolate.

For all of our coffee subscribers, we are including a dark roast from Bukonzo Organic Cooperative in Western Uganda. On the slopes of the Rwenzori Mountains, the Bukonzo Organic Coop—comprised of 1,200 farmers—is among the first in its region to earn Fair Trade and Organic certifications and among the few in this region who work with washed coffees.

For our two coffee subscribers, you will enjoy this bold Ugandan roast up against our light roast Ethiopia Yirgacheffe from Awash River for an African single origins tasting.

Hope you enjoy,
Jeff Abella
