Direct Trade

Beyond Fair Trade

We don’t just source coffee and chocolate — we build long-term partnerships that change outcomes at origin. From producer-set pricing to environmental stewardship, each Direct Trade relationship reflects the priorities of the farmers and communities we work alongside.
Our Approach

How Direct Trade Changes Outcomes

Direct Trade doesn’t look the same everywhere. Pricing structures, environmental priorities, and social investments vary by origin — but each partnership is built around transparency, accountability, and long-term impact.

Togo, Africa — Direct Trade in Action

In the hills around Badou, Togo, we work directly with a close-knit community of cacao farmers. Pricing is transparent and verified — farmers receive above Fairtrade minimums, plus Fairtrade premiums, plus an additional Moka Origins premium paid directly back to the cooperative. That premium funds community-led projects chosen by the farmers themselves, building long-term stability beyond the harvest.

The result speaks for itself.

Moka Direct Trade Price to Farmers $13.10/ lb
Conventional Farm-Gate Price $10.02/ lb

These partnerships help move cacao from origin to our factory while maintaining transparency, traceability, and quality throughout the supply chain.
