Our Factory & Café

Our headquarters just outside Honesdale, PA, is home to the Moka Origins chocolate factory, café, and retail store. This space invites customers into the world of craft chocolate and coffee through tours, tastings, events, and a unique behind-the-scenes factory experience.

Role Overview: Chocolate Production Assistant

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and motivated Chocolate Production Assistant to join our factory team. This is a hands-on role supporting daily chocolate production, packaging, and fulfillment. The ideal candidate brings a strong work ethic, good communication, and emotional maturity—someone who thrives in a clean, organized, team-oriented environment.

This position is perfect for someone who enjoys physical, craft-based work and takes pride in producing a premium food product that makes a positive global impact.

Key Responsibilities

Chocolate Production & Packaging

• Learn and support all steps of the chocolate making process.
• Unload cocoa from our roaster and transfer into our de-shelling machine (winnower), while packaging cocoa nibs for shipping. 
• Load and unload ingredients into our chocolate grinders, melters, grinders, and other chocolate machines.
• Unload and transfer finished chocolate for packaging and cooling.
• Use our chocolate granulator to make hot chocolate.
• Package chocolate bars, bag hot chocolate and coffee, and prepare orders for shipping.
• Support our shipping team during seasonal influxes with boxing and kitting. 
  
• Maintain accuracy in labeling, weights, and quality standards.

Factory Operations & Cleaning

• Keep equipment, tools, and work areas clean and organized daily

• Follow all food safety and sanitation standards

• Support production changeovers and help with daily setup and shutdown procedures

Team Collaboration

• Communicate clearly and respectfully with coworkers and supervisors

• Add constructive and positive input to our weekly group meetings and help us build a strong and respectful culture.

• Support teammates to maintain a smooth workflow during busy production periods

• Uphold a positive, steady attitude and contribute to a respectful, collaborative culture

Qualifications

• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly

• Excellent attention to detail and quality control

• Strong prioritization of food safety and cleanliness

• Dependable time management and communication skills

• Calm under pressure, adaptable, and emotionally steady

• Works well both independently and as part of a team

• Previous production or food manufacturing experience a plus, but not required
